  • Convert microg/ml to molar concentration

    Hi,

I have a protein soln at a concentration of 59 microg/ml. The MW of the protein is 59kDa, how do I calculate the molar concentration??

    Thanks

Since molar concentrations are expressed per liter, it is easier to consider 59 g/mL as 59 mg/L.

The molecular weight of 59 kDa means the molar mass is 59 kg/mol

    59 mg/L x 1 mol/59 kg = 1 mol/L (micromole per liter)

I have a protein soln at a concentration of 899.85 microg/ml. The MW of the protein is 3362649.6 kDa, how do I calculate the molar concentration??

Molar concentration is moles per liter
          899.85 g/mL is also 899.95 mg/L

The molar mass is numerically equal to the molecular weight, which seems unusually high. You may wish to double check the number and units. Assum ing it is correct, the molar mass is 3362649.6 kg/mol

          899.5 mg/L x 1 mol/3362649.6 kg = 267.5 pmol/L

            hello there

hope to help me with this one

            i have 3.22 microgram/ml of drug (380 MW (a.m.u)) , how am i going to convert to microgram/M

hope to hear from u soon
