I have trouble with numbers, how many metres is 2.3 cm?

    Re: Cm to M

You can do that conversion on any of the length conversion pages here:
    http://www.onlineconversion.com/length.htm

    2.3 centimeter = 0.023 meter

Though I assume you wanted to know how to do it by hand. There are 100 centimeters in a meter so you would use the following formulas.

    meters * 100 = centimeters
    centimeters / 100 = meters

                Re: Cm to M

                Here how it's done...

2.3 cm X m ??? (this is what your looking for) / cm

                so 2.3 cm X 1m / 100 cm (in one meter there's 100 cm)

                so 2.3cm X 1m divided by 100cm =

Cancel out the cm unit so you'll have meter left as a unit

                answer is 0.023 meter

                          I like that, smartfisherman!

When I was a college student, I used to have a poster in my dorm room with that proverb--
"Give me a fish and I eat for a day. Teach me to fish and I eat for a lifetime."

You should learn the SI (metric) prefixes. They always mean the same thing and may be used with any metric unit. Centi-, symbol "c", means 0.01 or 1/100. Kilo-, symbol k, means 1000.
                              so 1 km = 1000 m
                              1 cm = 0.01 m (or 100 cm = 1 m)
