Re: convert linear inches to cubic feet

length in feet * width in feet * height in feet = cubic feet

First all units need to be the same, convert inches to feet by dividing by 12 first. Then just multiply it all together.

    12 feet * (12 inches/12) feet * (2 inches / 12) feet = 12 feet * 1 feet * .1667 feet = 2 cubic feet

      Tell me, if I'm correct on this conversion: 190feet * 30feet * 4inches = 158.31 cubic yards

        190 feet * 30 feet * (4 inches / 12) feet = 1900 cubic feet
        1900 cubic feet / 27 = 70.37 cubic yards

What I did was convert the 4 inches to feet before multiplying. That gives cubic feet, which I converted to cubic yards.
