Please help me convert 3.5 kN/m to lbf/ft.
    Thank you!

    Re: kN/m = lbf/ft

    1 kilonewton/meter = 68.5217659 pounds-force/foot

    3.5 kN/m * 68.5217659 = 239.82618065 lbf/ft

        Re: kN/m = lbf/ft

Depending on what information yu have got in terms of conversion tables the following will work :-
        :-1 Ib f/ft2 = 47.8803 N/m2

        :- 1 Ib f/ft = sq rt of 47.8803 N/m2 = 6.919 N/m

        :- 1 Ib f/ft = 6.919 N/m / 1000 = 0.006919 KN/m

        :- 3.5KN/m / 0.006919 KN/m = 505.8534

        :- 3.5KN/m = 505.8534 Ibf/ft

There is a difference between kN/m and kN-m, also between lbf/ft and lbf-ft.

              No that is incorrect.

              3.5 kN/m = 239.82618 lbf/ft
              3.5 kN-m = 2581.4675 lbf-ft

kN/m is kilonewton divided by meter
kN m is kilonewton multiplied by meter

              There is a big difference.

can any one tell me then if a Hiab type crane had a lifting moment of less than 365 kNm what would its tonne/meter capacity be?

From post #2, just divide instead of multiplying.

                        Dear ,

please help me to correlate the following:

                        Sealing strength- 7 kg/25 mm and 1 n/ 15 mm

The force of "standard gravity" acting on 1 kg is 9.80665 N (round to 10 N for mental calculations)

                          7 kg/25 mm = 41 N/15 mm cf. to 1 N/15 mm. 'Nuff said?
