Re: Convert KN/m2 to Metric Tonnes/m2
I have a maximum floor loading of 4.0kN/m2 or a 9.0kn Point load what would the conversion be into metric tonnes...??

4 kN/m² X 1 kg/9.80665 N = 407.9 kg/m²
(for rough work, just divide by 10. It is "close enough" and slightly conservative.)

Could you please convert the following for me :
1OO kN/m2 to Tonnes
80 Kn/M2 to Tonnes
50 Kn/m2 to Tonnes
40 Kn/M2 to Tonnes
Many Thanks

when going from Newtons to KG or Kilo Newton to Metric Tonnes, just devide by 9.81.
ie. 100kN/m2 = 10.2Mt/m2
etc .... note that your figures are given as a pressure, therfore you would need an area to determine the mass F=P*A
