  • Converting Kg/s into L/s

anyone have any idea how i can do this?

need to convert 11.285kg/s into l/s

    or 11.285kg/s into m3/s

    any help would be grateful

    thanks

    Re: Converting Kg/s into L/s

You just need to know the density of the substance.

If density is listed in kilogram/liter, then:
    kilogram/second / density = liter/second

If you post the substance, I may be able to look up the density.

Using water as the liquid at 20 degrees C then:

Vol flow from mass flow calculates simply as:
      Vol Flow (l/s) = 1.002 * Mass Flow (kg/s)

This is fine, but how do one convert say 10.5 l/s to X kg/s (hours or day)?

        Hope you can help.

You have to know the density of the material in question. Do you know what the liquid or gas is, or do you know the density or specific gravity?

              It depends on the density:
              For water (1 kg/L) 1 kg/s = 1 L/s
              For gasoline (0.73 kg/L) 1 kg/s = 1.37 L/s
              Just divide by the density

If you don't know the density, you can't solve the problem.

Divide by the density in kg/L.
If you don't know the density, there is no answer.

How about answering the question directly? Your answer is not clear. Please fill in the blank.
                        1 kg/s = ____ L/s of water. Thanks.

You have the patience of a man watching a mountain erode to dust.

                              1 kg = 0.83 Ltr.
