  • mm to gauge

Hello-- I am a jewelry designer and am having trouble ordering overseas since they don't use the same measurements as us.

Can someone please help me convert .5 mm and .7 mm to gauge thickness.

    These are for headpin thicknesses.

    Thanks very much!

    Re: mm to gauge

American Wire Gauge is seen most often with electrical wire made of copper, but it is actually used for any non-ferrous metal. The table in the Wikipedia article gives conversion of wire gauge to diameter in both inches and millimeters. The answer to your specific question is AWG24 and AWG21, respectively.
