To convert mm to inches, just multiply the mm by .03937 that will give you inches. So 25mm is .98425 inches.

This doesn't give a good explanation of how you derive the answer.....not clear at all

It is "derived" directly from the legal definition of the inch over 52 years ago:
              http://www.nist.gov/pml/wmd/metric/length.cfm
FAQ: When did the metric redefinition of the inch occur?

In 1958, a conference of English-speaking nations agreed to unify their standards of length and mass, and define them in terms of metric measures. The American yard was shortened and the imperial yard was lengthened as a result. The new conversion factors were announced in 1959 in Federal Register Notice 59-5442 (June 30, 1959), which states the definition of a standard inch: The value for the inch, derived from the value of the Yard effective July 1, 1959, is exactly equivalent to 25.4 mm.

                        25 mm = 2.5 cm
                        65 cN/cm x 2.5 cm x 1000 g/9.8 N = 166 gf, so 166 gf/25 mm

Re: Convert 25mm to inches what is it?

                          1 inch = 25.4 mm
                          1 mm = .03937 in

If you have 100 mm and you need to convert, there are two ways to get answer:
                          100mm/25.4 = 3.937 inches
                          100mm x .03937 = 3.937 inches

                          Steve
