Given that 1 ppm is equal ti 1 gm in 10^6 gm of solution (for dilute aqueous solutions, this is 1 gm per 1000 L of 1 mg per L), and i ug = 10^6, how do you convert ug/mL to ppm? Can you please show working?

Noting that 1 mg = 1000 µg, and 1 L = 1000 mL, substitute so that
1 ppm = 1000 µg/1000 mL = 1 µg/mL

Re: 1 ug/mL = ??? ppm
Ok, so I have 1ug/mL =1ppm. I have values of soil P at 0.00083ug/mL and 0.101243ug/mL and I believe anything under 20ppm is a low soil P reading. Can this be possible?

However, the usual way to measure soil is to mix a fixed weight (in grams) in a fixed amount of water (liters or milliliters) to dissolve the solubles. The concentration of the water is measured, but it has to be referred back to the soil water mixture, to get the concentration in soil.
If, for example, 10 g of soil were mixed in 1000 mL of water, you would have to multiply by 1000 mL/10 g to get concenbtrations in the soil of micrograms per gram. You have to know how soil and water were mixed to understand the solution results correctly.
