Is there a chart to convert ppb to ppm
How small is a ppm? a golf ball in a football stadium?

  • #2
    inched of Mercury to hectopascal

I need to convert, I found the handy converter at 0 celcius but what if the celcuis temp is 27.7.

    example:
    barometor 30.11 inches of mercury
    at 82 degress F, 27.7 degrees C

    Please Help!

      Re: ppb to ppm

      1 ppm = 1000 ppb
      1 ppb = 1/1000 ppm

ppb is a unit of proportion equal to 1 part per billion, and ppm is a unit of proportion equal to 1 part per million.

You can really compare it to things like football stadiums, as it depends the size of both things. For things like minerals in water, 1 ppb could be in a solution no bigger than a glass of water.

For converting between ppm and ppb the temperature and pressure will not matter. Because it is a unit of proportion and you are converting to the same type of unit of proportion. Normally temperature and pressure matter, just not in this case.

I think you will find that 1ppm = 1000ppb not the other way round

Right you are, I modified that today.

                Re: ppb to ppm

                30 ppm * 1000 = 30000 ppb

                  Re: ppb to ppm

                  So if 1 ppm = 1000 ppb then 0.10 ppm = 100 ppb...right?

One drop in a swimming pool is ppb
One drop in a tub is ppm

                      ppb / 1000 = ppm

                        Hi

According to your calculation ppb to ppm

                        1 nanogram/ml = 1ppb so

                        50 nanograms/ml = 50ppb

                        thus 1 nanogram/ml = 1/1000 ppm

                        and 50 nanograms/ml = 50/1000 ppm

                        Is this right?

                        Thanks

As long as you are talking about a solution, then yes. It won't be correct for gasses or solid systems.

                            Re: ppb to ppm

                            ppm is like mg/L
                            ppb is ug/L

                            units of 1000
