  • converting metric tonne to metric cubed

    hey there

I need to know how to convert 1 metric Tonne=m3

also need to know 1000 kgs=m3.....this is in reference to gravel....

for some reason I just can not find what I am looking for(maybe cuz i dont really know what I am looking for) so I would like to know if someone can just convert it for me?? please and ty.....

Re: converting metric tonne to metric cubed

I believe you are in error with your conversion factor, it should read 1.59tn per m3, NOT 1.59kg per m3. Otherwise a kilo a sugar, or 2.2lb, wouldn't fit into any shopping trolley, let alone a shopping bag

Yes that density should have said kilogram/liter, which is the same as tonne/cubic meter.

I deleted the previous post with the error.

      Gravel, loose, dry - 1.52 kilogram/liter
      Gravel, w/sand, natural - 1.92 kilogram/liter
      Gravel, dry 1/4 to 2 inch - 1.68 kilogram/liter
      Gravel, wet 1/4 to 2 inch - 2.00 kilogram/liter
      Concrete, Gravel - 2.40 kilogram/liter

1 tonne of cement plus 3 tonne of sand can cover how many cunpc meter ?

I can't find a density for mortar (concrete with only sand and cement, no gravel). Regular concrete is 2.4 t/m. Probably not much different. So 4/2.4 = roughly 1.7 m

I'm looking for the conversion factor for cubic meters to ton metrics. My material is gravel from 0-20mm or 0-56mm. Thank You.

From the post above, if you really have material down to sand-size particles, I'd use the sand and gravel figure, otherwise the gravel:
              Gravel, w/sand, natural - 1.92 kilogram/liter
              Gravel, dry 1/4 to 2 inch - 1.68 kilogram/liter

densities in kg/L are numerically the same as t/m
