Assuming you want ppm based on volume ratio, multiply by 10000.

So 85% would be 850000ppm? That seems awfully large....

        100% is 1 million ppm.

          So 85% would be 850000ppm? All the constituent parts would add up to a million? eg 850000 (85%), 100000 (10%), 50000 (5%)....

          Am I understanding this correct?

                Multiply by 10,000. 1%w/v is 10,000ppm, 100% is 1,000,000ppm

Ppm is a ratio of two things (actually one thing in a mixture of things). If there is only one thing, it is always 1 million ppm.

Could you please send me the reference for the conversion of volume% into ppm?
                      Thank you.

What kind of ppm? If ppm based on volume ratio, just multiply by 10000.
