    how do you solve: If 2.29g of phosphate are in 1284 ml of solution, what is the phosphate in meq/L?

    The molar mass of the phosphate ion is 94.973 g/mol, and the charge is -3, hence 3 eqv per mole.

    2.29 g/1.284 L x 1 mol/94.973g = 18.8 mmol/L
    Multiple by 3 for meq/L, 56.3 meq/L

        Charge of K+ ion is 1, so 1 Eq = 1 mol
        Molar mass of K is 39.0983 g/mol

        3 meq/L x 4 L x 1 mol/eq x 39.0983 g/mol = 469 mg/L

          1/miliequivalent weight
          1/1783.5
          =0.00056meq/L

            Phosphate is PO4, and depending on how far you are reducing it, you need 2, 4, 5, or 8 electrons per phosphate molecule to balance an electronic equation, as phosphorus has several different stable oxidation states.

            One of the issues with using milliequivilents, which seem to have come back into fashion.

                If that is just the concentratuion of the sodium ion, divide by 22.99 g/mol = 107 mmol/L (or meq/l for sodium ion, which has charge of +1)

                      7.4 gm of KCl was dissolved in 100ml of water .Give strength of solution in MEq/Lit
