    I want to get the relationship between hertz and Rpm.
    since i am in inverter field i need to calculate hetrz to rpm and vice versa
    if anybody know please explain me thanx thangaraj

    Hertz is 1/second and RPM would be 1/minute

    hertz * 60 = RPM
    RPM / 60 = hertz

          If you are measuring as Hertz how many cycles of the motor shaft per second is fine the convertion mentioned down

          1 Hz = 60 RPM

          But if you are talking about Electrical Hz, you need the data of your motor. For example a motor that in the template shows 1800 rpm @ 60 Hz, means that with an electrical signal of 60 Hz will turn at 1800 RPM. Then the convertion will be:

          60 Hz = 1800 RPM
          1 Hz = 30 RPM

          And those values are the ones that an inverter or drive uses for control the motor speed.

            To avoid confusion, periodically varying angles are typically not expressed in hertz, but rather in an appropriate angular unit such as radians per second. A disc rotating at 60 revolutions per minute (RPM) can thus be said to be rotating at ≈6.283 rad/s or 1 Hz, where the latter reflects the number of complete revolutions per second. The conversion between a frequency f measured in hertz and an angular frequency ω measured in radians/s are:

            ω = 2πf and f = ω/(2π)

              From your question, I have another one.
              Can you calculate the new rpm of a motor that is used at a place with electricity supply of 415v and 50 hz.
              The motor has original specification: 1400rpm on 60 hz electricity supply and 380 v

                Assuming that the frequency change lowers the speed and voltage change raises the speed , it would be

                1400x50/60X415/380 = 1274

                    I designed and constructed a small wind turbine last year as part of my undergraduate project. The speed of the alternator is 165rpm. How do I convert this speed to Hertz?

                      It depends on the number of poles the generator/alternator has. Apply formula posted above

                          Divide the rpm by 60 to get revolutions per second.

                          The machine vibrations will be that frequency or integer multiples (harmonics) of it.
