    See discussion and method in posts #2-4. We can't answer without knowing the power output of the engine (in kW). Ideally, you should use the density of your diesel fuel, which varies lot to lot, but 840 g/L is good average. Multiply by output power in kW, divide by fuel density

        Yes, provided you are actually running at this power output. If that is rated power, and the actual load is less than that, the fuel consumption will be less too. --JohnS

            What is engine output in kilowatts at specified fuel consumption, what is density of your fuel?

              Need to convert fuel consumption of 229g/kWh to L/h.
              Rated power=160kW

                At rated power:
                229 g/kWh x 160 kW x 1 kg/1000 g x 1 L/0.84kg =43.6 L/h
                I have assumed a density of 0.84 kg/L for your diesel fuel, but that can vary somewhat. If you have a measured density for the fuel you are using, substitute above and recalculate. If the engine is not at full load, fuel consumption will decrease, but not linearly.

                            252 L/h x 0.9902 kg/L = 249.53 kg/h or 249 530 g/h while generating 1060kW
                            249 530 g/h / 1060 kW = 235.4 g/kWh
