    How to convert 1 ng/ml ov Insulin to pmol/l or mIU/l ?

  • #2
I found somewhat conflicting information. I am hesitant to even offer it, but maybe it is better than nothing. I found:
*A statement by the World Health organization that 1 IU human insulin is 0.0347 mg
*A conversion by the Journal of the American Medical Association that 1 µIU/mL = 6.945 pmol/L

These two, taken together, would imply the molar mass is 4996 g/mol (or dalton); however several other sources give the molar mass (or molecular weight) as 5808 g/mol, 16% higher.
