    Can someone tell me what this platelet count converts to please.
    Platelets my value 8 10*3/uL normal value 140 - 440 10*3/uL

    What units do you want them in? 8x103 is scientific notation and just another way to write 8000. You have 8000 in a volume of 1 L (microliter), a millionth of a liter. I think the important message is that you should have 140 000 to 440 000 (the normal range).

    We can only do conversions here not interpretation. However, you are far outside normal range and need to discuss significance with your doctor.
