    Info I have: 1.42 mg/L; event cubic feet discharge: 104,792cf; event duration (1 day/ 24hrs): 0.67222 day

    What I need to find: pounds per day (lb/Day)

    I'm not sure I understand the event duration. Would discharge continue at the same rate for the balance of the day?

    Let me focus on the specific 109 792 ft³ event. The foot is defined as 0.3048 m (or 3.048 dm) and the liter is defined as 1 dm³, so

    109 792 ft³ x (3.048 dm/ft)³ = 3.10896 ML (megaliters)

    3.10896 ML x 1.42 mg/L = 4.415 kg

    4.415 kg 1 lb/0.45359237 kg = 9.73 lb in the 104 792 ft³.

    It would be easier to not mix metric and Customary units.

      Event duration is 67.222% of a 24 hour day, or 16.13 hours I believe. It is the duration of one rain event used to capture a volume of agriculture runoff for nutrient observation.

      Basically I'm trying to use these quantities to calculate nutrient loads in lbs per day (lb/day), which is what my boss is telling me should be the final result. I'm just lost in the conversion. Thanks for your help!
