  • Gallons of water in a 1 pipe

How many gallons of water fit in a 100 long 1 diameter pipe?

  • #2
What you're asking is simply the volume of a 100 foot long 1 inch diameter pipe.

This would be the (cross-sectional area) x (length)
    Or also written as pi*(r^2)*L

So for this example, that would be:

    pi x (0.0254/2)^2 x 30.48

0.01544 m3 of water in the pipe

Though in actual fact, if you're being accurate you would need to know the internal diameter of the pipe as opposed to the outside diameter. Or know the outside diameter and the thickness of the pipe wall.
