  • Micron to gsm

Please can anyone help me how to convert from micron to gsm of the pp film . Thickness is 180 micorn . Density is 0.68 and size is 22 X 28 inch .

please also tell me the formula for future calculations .

    Te size doesn't matter. Consider a square meter (100 cm x 100 cm). 180 m (micron is obsolete) is 1.8 x 10-2 cm.
    Volume is 100 cm x 100 cm x 1.80 x 10-2cm = 180 cm

I assume the density is in g/cm. Multiplying by that, the 1 square meter has a mass of 122 g, so 122 g/m (or gsm).

You always need the thickness and the density for this calculation.

Sir we deal in pp synthetic paper so the thickness range is 180 micron and the density is 0.68 g/cm3.

        A square meter is 104 cm2 and 180 m is 180 x 10-4 cm so

        0.68 g/cm3 x 104 cm2/m2 x 180 x 10-4 cm =122.4 g/m2 (or gsm)
