  • Calculation of number of pieces of a bathroom fitting set on the basis of CBM.

    Please help me with calculating the total number of pieces of a toilet set with following dimensions , i can load in one 40 ft container on the basis of CBM of a container

    Product no. 1

    BTP 01 w.H
    Height : 42.5 cm
    Width : 41.5 cm
    Length : 64.5 cm

    BTP 01 Tank
    Height : 35.5 cm
    Width : 24.0 cm
    Length : 41.5 cm


    Product No. 2

    BTP 03 w.H
    Height : 42.5 cm
    Width : 42.0 cm
    Length : 66.5 cm

    BTP 01 Tank
    Height : 40.0 cm
    Width : 17.5 cm
    Length : 38.0 cm

    40ft cbm : 67.0

    Eventually, you have to get to how you orient the box and one more box either fits or it doesn't, so you'll have some wasted space. Lets start with an approximation that is the max, which you are unlikely to achieve. Convert dimensions to meters and calculate volume of each piece

    Product 2: 0.40 m x 0.175 m X 0.38 m +0.425 m x 0.42 m x 0.665 m = 0.146m. No more than 67/0.146 = 458 can possible fit.
    Depending on how ingeniously you pack you might get 80-90% of that.

    Now you will have to figure an array of boxes that will fit the floor area (about 234 cm wide, 1211 cm long for 40 ft container) and then how many layers. It will be more complex if you mix box types.
