  • Convert cells/uL to x10^9/l

    Hello!
I'm having difficulty grasping the 'why' of a conversion.
I would like to convert 2408 cells in 1ul and convert it to 10^9/L.
If you /1000 then its 2.4x10^9/L, but why??

Appreciate if the maths is shown.
    Thanks in advance!

Um.... I think the math is wrong.Maybe milliliter was used instead of microliter?
I'm not sure of that answer though. 10^9 is gigaliters, if that's a thing.
10^-9 is nanoliters and probably what you meant, and ul is microliters.
Hmmm.. I think my original answer, that it's because 2.4 is 1000 times smaller than 2408 is actually correct.

Nanoliters are also 1000 time smaller than microliters.

If you take 1 microliter with 2408 cellts, and divide that into 1000 petri dishes, then each dish will have 1 nanoliter and 2.408 cells

      If I write 2408 as 2.408 x 103, then we have 2.408 x 103 cells/ L. and there are 106 L in 1 L so

      2.408 x 103 cells/L x 106 L/L = 2.408 x 109 cells/L
