  • Fuel Conversion

    Currently i am using Diesel for Heating Oven and Coal for Sand Casting process. I want to change my Coal and Diesel fuel with Use of PNG (Piped Natural Gas) in M3. Kindly advice the Calculation that how many PNG (M3) is required to switch Diesel and Coal.

    The amount of fuel use-
    1. Diesel - 5200 Ltr/Month
    2. Industrial Coal - 8000 Kg/Month

    Hello Goldy, Piped natural gas energy density varies based on its source.

    The energy density of a natural gas lies in the range of 33.4–82.7 MJ/m3.
    The energy density for diesel fuel ranges from 32 to 40 megajoules per liter (MJ/L).
    The energy density of coal is approximately 24 MJ/kg

    Contact your local provider to obtain energy densities of your gas.
    Unfortunately due to variations in the fuel beyond our control, we cannot tell you how much fuel you will need to convert to a fully PNG process without more information regarding your fuel energy densities.
