  • mg/Nm3 Conversion

    Hi Everyone,

    Not sure if I am posting in the correct place for this. but I am stuck on converting concentration for some of my parameters.

    I am looking to convert from mg/m3 to mg/Nm3.

    Below are the parameters I would like to convert:

    Total Particulate Matter = 1.5mg/m3
    TVOC = 150mg/m3

    The ambient temperature was 33.8 degrees Celsius and the barometric pressure is 747.8mmHg

    If someone could help convert this for me then that would be great, while also explaining how to do it for future reference.

    Thanks,

    Eddie

    First, I would like to apologize for the late response. I hope this information is still useful for you.

    To convert from mg/m3 to mg/Nm3, we need to know the temperature and pressure of the gas. The conversion formula is:

    mg/Nm3 = (mg/m3) * (273.15 / (273.15 + T)) * (P / 101.325)

    Where:

    T is the temperature in Kelvin
    P is the pressure in kPa
    To convert the temperature from Celsius to Kelvin, we add 273.15 to it.

    For Total Particulate Matter:

    T = 33.8 + 273.15 = 307.95 K
    P = 747.8 / 7.5006 = 99.68 kPa
    mg/Nm3 = (1.5) * (273.15 / (273.15 + 33.8)) * (99.68 / 101.325) = 1.4 mg/Nm3

    For TVOC:

    T = 33.8 + 273.15 = 307.95 K
    P = 747.8 / 7.5006 = 99.68 kPa
    mg/Nm3 = (150) * (273.15 / (273.15 + 33.8)) * (99.68 / 101.325) = 139 mg/Nm3

    I hope this helps!
